Eternal Love

Centuries ago......
When mortals were more fearful of what they couldn't understand.
She was hunted down and dispatched.
Still vivid in my mind was this horrible act.
As I held back rage,revenge, and the urge to persue.
I whispered ancient magic to the one I adored.
And with the last words of this rite.
I dimmed myself quickly...
And Bound out of site.
All who had a hand in the dispatch.
Soon met my rage, revenge, and disgust.
But, not a drop of their blood was drunk.
With the last of them fallen by my rage.
I waited for the day.
The day that the magic would take it's course.
And my eternal love shall return.

And she returned century after century
With names such as Katherine, Leslie, Rachel, Teresa and even Evelyn....
And upon every century I did find her....
I would wait and watch my eternal love go through the mortal stages of life.
From a newborn through her teenage years.
Until she reached the age of twenty-eight.
And then I would embrace my eternal love.
Hoping that the magic had finished it's course.
The out come was always the same.
always the worst....
A mortal death....
A mortal curse....

To find my eternal love.
In the next century.
Born with the name Shelby.
I did embrace my eternal love once again.
And watched her die a mortal death.
Just to see the magic come full circle.
In the pale moonlight.
My eternal love Reborn.
From my loving bite....
